چکیده

Biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs) impact atmospheric oxidation capacity and regional air quality through various biogeochemistry processes. Accurate estimation of BVOC emissions is crucial for modeling the fate transport pollutants in chemical models. Previous characterizes spatial variability BVOCs while estimated show large uncertainties, impacts on ozone (O 3 ) are not well understood. In this study, we estimate by model gases aerosols from nature (MEGAN) v2.1 MEGAN v3.1 over Sichuan Basin (SCB) situated southwestern China 2017. Further, critical role O pollution illustrated with a CMAQ modeled episode summer Annual SCB 2017 to be 1.8 × 10 6 tons isoprene as high 7.3 5 tons. Abundant depicted southern southeastern SCB, contrast relatively low Chengdu Plain northeastern SCB. simulations depict strong influence ambient formation densely forested regions including Chongqing city, accounting 10% daily maximum hourly concentration (DM1h 6% 8-h average (MDA8h concentrations July Over severe 2017, sensitivity experiments indicate that enhanced contribute substantially basin-wide elevate peak levels 36.5 31.2 ?g/m Plain, respectively. This work identifies robustly important effects exceedance events contributes insight into pursuing an abatement strategy full consideration potential contributions emissions.

Modeling Emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds from New Carpets

A simple model is proposed to account for observed emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from new carpets. The model assumes that the VOCs originate predominantly in a uniform slab of polymer backing material. Parameters for the model (the initial concentration of a VOC in the polymer, a diffusion coefficient and an equilibrium polymer/air partition coefficient) are obtained from exper...

Projections of air pollutant emissions and its impacts on regional air quality in China in 2020

Anthropogenic emissions of air pollutants in China influence not only local and regional environments but also the global atmospheric environment; therefore, it is important to understand how China’s air pollutant emissions will change and how they will affect regional air quality in the future. Emission scenarios in 2020 were projected using forecasts of energy consumption and emission control...

Biogenic volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from forests in Finland

We present model estimates of biogenic volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from the forests in Finland. The emissions were calculated for the years 1995–1997 using the measured isoprene and monoterpene emission factors of boreal tree species together with detailed satellite land cover information and meteorological data. The three-year average emission is 319 kilotonnes per annum, which i...
